How does a ductless system work?
Ductless air conditioner systems are made up of an outdoor compressor unit, an indoor air handling unit and a thermostat. The indoor and outdoor units are connected by copper tubing that circulates refrigerant between the two units. Together, these compact units provide efficient, year-round heating and cooling for single or multiple rooms.
You might consider a ductless heating and cooling system for:
- Older home renovations where ductwork is absent or limited.
- Add-ons and bonus rooms when current heating and cooling is insufficient.
- Small-to-large business and office spaces with one or multiple rooms.
- Very large new home constructions where central heating and cooling might be limited.
Single Zone Solutions
When you have one room that is always too hot or too cool, a single zone system is perfect.
- Heats and cools one room all year-round
- One outdoor unit powers one indoor unit
- The indoor unit is usually wall mounted
Multi-Zone Solutions
If you need to heat or cool multiple spaces in your home, a multi-zone system is the answer.
- Heats and cools two or more rooms all year-round
- One outdoor unit powers several indoor units
- The indoor units can be wall or ceiling mounted.
Selecting your indoor unit.
Ductless systems offer several flexible options to accommodate your home. You’ll get the same performance and efficiency whether you go with a standard wall mounted unit like the highwall, or a ceiling mounted unit like the cassette. Be sure to speak with your installer to see what the best options are for your home.
